Notably, alongside the music and cuisine, Coca-Cola Sri Lanka seized the opportunity at its first Coke Kottu Beat Party of the year to showcase its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship through the ‘Give Back Life’ stall. The ‘Give Back Life’ stall at the Coke Kottu Beat Party served as a hub for educating visitors on the importance of PET plastic collection and recycling. Attendees immersed themselves in informative displays, learning about different types of plastics, methods for identifying PET plastic, and the myriad of products that can be produced from recycled PET plastic, including brushes, brooms, yarns, shirts, and more. In 2023, Coca-Cola recognized the profound cultural significance of Kottu, affectionately hailed as the “National Food of Sri Lanka.” Leveraging insights from extensive research, Coca-Cola ingeniously forged a connection between Kottu and its iconic brand, giving rise to the sensational Coke Kottu Beat Party. The Coke Kottu Beat Party emerged as a dynamic platform, seamlessly blending Sri Lankans’ passion for music with their deep-rooted love for Kottu. As part of Coca-Cola’s global “Is Cooking” campaign, which aims to enhance street food experiences and celebrate music culture worldwide, this event resonated deeply with local audiences.
