Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon-2024 will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, under the overall supervision of the Bangladesh Army. The opening and closing ceremony of the program will be held at BNS Sheikh Mujib Bais, adjacent to Sheikh Hasina Sarani.
President of Bangladesh Olympic Association and Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, SBP (Bar), OSP, NDU, PSC, Ph.D. will be present as the chief guest at the closing and prize distribution ceremony.
Besides, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan, OSP, NPP, NDC, NCC, PSC will be present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.
Senior military officials, Athletics Federation officials, Bangladesh Olympic Association officials, various sponsors, media persons and runners participating in the marathon will be present at the opening and closing and prize distribution ceremonies.
About 59 foreign male and female runners will participate in the full marathon (42.195 km) category in this year’s marathon. Besides, approximately 5806 Bangladeshi marathoners have completed the registration process to participate in the full and half marathon (21.097 km).
