The Seventh Edition of Bangladesh-India-Singapore (Babhasi) International Film Festival-2023 held on Wednesday, December. The film award ceremony was organized Babhasi at the auditorium of Biswa Sahitya Kendra in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sankar Sankar Sanojal was the chief guest and National Film Award winning director Zakir Hossain Raju was the special guest at the closing and award distribution ceremony.
The Jury Board of Bangladesh-India-Singapore (Babhasi) International Film Festival included fiction writer, playwright, lyricist Rajeev Mani Das, Momin Sarkar- Director and Video Editor, Fazluz Haque (Fazlul Salim)- Director and Playwright, Palash Mani Das- Playwright and Director, Babul Uddin- Director and Md Fahad. – Playwright and director.
120 films were submitted from the country and outside the country. Out of 10 films screened from there, 10 finalists in 7 categories were awarded. Shaila Rahman Thithi (Joy Bangla) won the best movie award at the festival. The three winners of the Best Filmmaker award were Shimanda Sajal (Shackle Breaking Song), Sujan Barua (Friend) and Miroj Khan Raj (Neglected).
Best Screenplay jointly by Sajal Chakraborty (Worthless Man) and Mahbub Haasan (Sorry Brother). Best Cinematographer Kishore Mahmood (Journey to the God). Best Actor Nithor Mahbub (Bangladesh at Heart). Best Video Editor Tapan Sarkar (A Day in Slaughterhouse). Best Music Director Mir Hasan Swapan (Bhagan).
Md Zahidul Islam (The Daily Sun), Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan (NewsG24.com) and Saju Ahmed (Dainik Amar Bangla) were awarded for their contribution to Journalism at the Event.
