Team Sri Lanka ready for Bahrain International Challenge

A team of nine shuttlers will be in action at the 2023 Bahrain International Challenge is set to unfold at the Bahrain KeraleeyaSamajam (BKS) from November 21-26. Organized under the patronage of the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF), the tournament has earned Level 3 sanctioning from Badminton Asia, the sport’s governing body in the continent.

The formidable Sri Lanka contingent for the Bahrain International Challenge includes: Aashinsa Herath, Dumindu Warnaka, Thulith Thewmika, Oshamika Karunarathne, Viren Nettsinghe, Buwaneka Tharindu Dullewa, Madhuka Dulanjana, Lahiru Weerasinghe and Ranithma Liyanage.

The Lankan players will be among nearly 250 players hailing from 32 countries at the competition which promises a dynamic display of badminton prowess. The event boasts a diverse representation from Europe, Africa, North America, and Asia, with a significant milestone being the inclusion of players from badminton powerhouses China and Japan for the first time.

The tournament regularly attracts participants from the top 50 world rankings, and is renowned for its competitive intensity, providing a platform for players to showcase their skills and ascend the global rankings.
