Committed to ‘Nourishing the Nation’ Serendib Flour Mills, for a second year undertook its ‘Uththama Dalada’ project of bringing joy to the elderly.

Serendib Flour Mills organized for over 100 elders from three selected homes in Mawanella, Kurunegala and Gampola to make an unforgettable journey of visiting the Dalada Maligawa to pay homage and seek blessings. The special guests were also able to witness the splendour of the Esala Perahera at a purpose-built enclosure where they enjoyed special comfortable front row seating arrangements, with food and refreshments, adding to the enjoyment of the occasion.

Through the ‘Uththama Dalada’ project, Serendib Flour Mills continues the tradition of giving back to the community especially the elderly and destitute, and a reminder that simple acts of kindness can touch lives and bridge generations.

Additionally, as the nation celebrates World Elders Day, Serendib Flour Mills highlights the importance of providing nourishment not only in terms of food but celebrating good thoughts and deeds remaining true to its purpose of ‘Nourishing the Nation’.
