PwC Sri Lanka and Alpha Business School recently partnered to create an internship program designed for their students pursuing the ACCA professional qualifications.

Alpha Business School is highly regarded for its ACCA and CFA programmes and is renowned for maintaining excellent academic standards. The Institute has a team of seasoned professionals who are dedicated to grooming the next generation of job-ready professionals.
The main aim of this specific internship program is to provide ACCA students a well-rounded consulting exposure which includes experience working in a leading global consultancy firm, building foundation skills in Oracle Cloud ERP (Financials or Supply Chain Management) or EPM (Enterprise Performance Management), Core Consulting skills and Digital skills.
The signing of memorandum of understanding (MOU) took place at the PwC Sri Lanka head office with the presence of Mr.Channa Manoharan, Chief Operating Officer and Advisory Leader of PwC Sri Lanka and Maldives and Dr Shaan Jayasekara, Chairman of Alpha Business School. Channa Manoharan, the Chief Operating Officer and Advisory Leader of PwC Sri Lanka and Maldives, stated, “At PwC, we ensure our interns gain a deeper understanding of their respective industries. In addition, we also strive to provide them with an insight into both local and global real-world experiences through our experienced professionals.”
Dr. Shaan Jayasekara, the Chairman of Alpha Business School speaking of the valuable opportunity offered through this partnership stated, “Both our institutions value genuine contribution to society, and this collaboration reinforces this value. Following the signing of the MOU, a Career Day was held, which commenced with a presentation by Mr. Channa Manoharan. He elaborated on PwC’s culture of excellence and its unwavering commitment to training and development. Mr. Manoharan underscored the advantages of being associated with the PwC community, highlighting how it could be the “Opportunity of a Lifetime” for individuals.
Mr. Haresh Perera, PwC’s Chief Digital Officer, presented an overview of PwC’s Internship Experience and outlined how the program can help develop skills and prepare students for global careers in the business world. He also presented “The Future of Finance,” discussing how the finance industry is evolving and the digital transformation taking place within the industry. Mr. Mayura Malagala, PwC’s Chief Data Officer, delivered an informative outline of PwC’s Oracle Consulting division and provided a detailed insight into its operations and its role in contributing to PwC’s overarching business objectives.
The Career Day enabled the participating students to appreciate the significance of cultivating employability skills, which are crucial in unlocking opportunities and forging a fulfilling and exhilarating career. The event culminated in the students having the chance to engage with industry leaders from PwC, acquire insight into the company’s culture and explore prospects for their personal and professional growth.
