Hosted under the theme: ‘Digital Lifestyle: Lifeline to overcome turmoil’, this will be the second consecutive year that the event will be taking place, providing Sri Lankans from all walks of life with an opportunity to engage with local and global industry experts.
“We warmly welcome FRIMI’s partnership with FITIS. Their support adds weight to our shared belief that all stakeholders in the Sri Lankan economy – from the state sector to large corporates, SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs – all need to find ways of leveraging the internet to their advantage.
“With Sri Lanka Internet Day, we aim to connect these communities to international players, in order to encourage tech and knowledge transfer, and strengthen Sri Lanka’s competitive position as a global player in internet-driven innovation,” FITIS Immediate Past President Digital Services Chapter and Co – Chair Sri Lanka Internet Day, Jiffry Zulfer said.
This year’s theme “Digital Lifestyle” was chosen by the organizers, in order to showcase citizen engagement in a digital society; how the internet and digitization can positively impact everyday life by merging with information technology. The term “digital life” is used to distinguish between parts of human life that take place in “cyberspace”, or which are closely related to digital technologies, and the other areas of life that take place in “real life” independent of digital technologies.
