October 25, 2022: Sysco LABS was the Strategic Partner for the recently concluded National IT Conference organized by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) held on the 12th and 13th of October at the Shangri-La Colombo. Nishantha Hettiarachchi, Director Engineering and Architecture at Sysco LABS speaking at the event, shared his expert insights on ‘Digital Technology Trends beyond 4.0’ to give the audience a window into the future.

Nishantha shared his views on how organizations must maximize the value of technology to take their business into the future. He elaborated on 12 technology trends forecasted by Gartner which would act as force multipliers of digital business and innovation over the next three to five years.

A tech industry veteran with over 20 years of experience delivering solutions for different industries, Nishantha highlighted four technology trends that will help organizations maximize the value they create, in the future, including ‘Distributed Enterprise’, ‘Total Experience’, ‘Autonomic Systems’ and ‘Generative AI’.

Speaking about technologies that can enable companies to win business and market share, Nishantha said, “CEOs want growth, digitalization and efficiency. From COVID-19 to economic crises, organizations are constantly challenged by unexpected events. But the promise of using digital business to thrive and outperform the competition during these disruptions remains clear. As technology leaders, we have an opportunity to embrace technology trends to accelerate growth and strategically drive our organizations forward. Failure to understand these trends and underestimate their value could lead to failed IT strategies, ultimately leading to the business’s failure. With various trends out there, all of us need to be aware and prioritize the correct IT strategies for the growth of our organizations,”.

Themed ‘Digitally Enriching Lives’, the National Information Technology Conference saw key ICT decision-makers from private and public organizations coming together to contribute to the national ICT objective of meeting USD 5 billion in ICT exports by the year 2025. This year’s edition featured more than 30 local and global speakers and a series of activities, including the Digital Investment Summit and CSSL Awards.
