In another step towards providing total loyalty solutions to its customers and retailers, CH17 has entered into partnership with DirectPay, a licensed digital payment services provider to make loyalty schemes more rewarding and convenient.

“We want to make our loyalty platform attractive to retailers and merchants where they could draw more customers towards them through a single channel, retain and reward them from time to time based on potential revenue these customers could bring in to the business”, Jumar Preena   CEO/Founder of CH17 Loyalty said.

Relationship between retailer and customer has to be built upon a strong foundation. The retailer should ideally know where the investment (discount) is going, to whom is he giving that privilege, what type of customers are they attracting and most importantly are they just discount “scavengers” you would not see them coming again, Jumar added

Most of the retailers particularly in the restaurant and hotels who go for joint discount promotions with card schemes on an ad-hoc basis end up with nothing in terms of return on their investment. No details of those who patronized these offers or they the target segment. These concerns were revealed recently at a forum organized by a consortium of restaurateurs under the theme “Is discounts the solution to build customer loyalty”.

The idea of DirectPay was born after witnessing how smartphones changed pretty much part of the day today in our lives. DirectPay was launched in 2018, in partnership with Cargill’s Bank, Commercial Bank, Nations Trust Bank, Seylan Bank and Hatton National Bank. The startup has made amazing progress and enabled many forms of digital payments and has become a leader in the market with the backing of John Keells Holdings as their investor through JKX Accelerator.

The Co-Founder and CEO of DirectPay, Kanishka Weeramunda credits his prosperity that’s evidenced by DirectPay’s continuous rapid growth. Within 20 months of operations, DirectPay processed LKR 2 billion worth of transactions and just eight months later DirectPay hit the milestone of processing LKR 5.4 billion rupees worth of transactions.

This accomplishment places DirectPay in the ranks of the fastest-growing fintech startups in Sri Lanka. DirectPay has presented several B2C and B2B fintech solutions and also upgraded to customized digital payments which offer consumers greater flexibility and convenience. DirectPay today helps organizations across Sri Lanka embrace advanced digital payments. Particularly for businesses in industries such as insurance, education, and e-commerce, where many transactions happen on a cash-on-delivery basis, A couple of instances of the numerous solutions DirectPay offers are a mobile-based payment app, an Internet Payment Gateway, support for remote payments with a link, and a system for accepting subscription payments. The startup’s solutions cover the entire payment ecosystem and ensure a seamless journey for customers and service providers.

This has permitted DirectPay to assist businesses with changing their digital presence to accept digital payments easily and also DirectPay makes an extraordinary brand and ensures to improve the quality of the services consistently.

CH17 is focused mainly on engaging the corporate sector to serve the large employee cadre. Based on collective bargaining strength, we help corporate clientele and their employees to get the best year-round benefits and privileges from our partner retailers. Technically CH17 helps brands to connect with communities through a single channel, Jumar explained. Since our entry in to the loyalty space way back in 2013 with Sri Lanka Apparel, we have been progressively targeting some of the top tier dynamic sectors such as IT/BPM, Health Sector, Higher Education, large manufacturing agencies, Chamber bodies etc.
