SLT-MOBITEL provides relief to flood-affected communities

SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT, Telecommunications and Mobile Services Provider, in continuing its efforts to help Sri Lanka is working together with the assistance of the Disaster Management Units and Provincial Secretariats, has stepped forward to support the flood-affected communities in the Colombo and Gampaha districts by distributing much needed dry rations and bottled water.

Accordingly, SLT-MOBITEL distributed relief packs containing essential dry rations and bottled water to the affected communities in the Sudu Nelum Pura housing complex, part of the Kolonnawa division and also to several communities residing in the Gampaha division.

Another noteworthy initiative undertaken by SLT-MOBITEL to help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic was the special ‘Daana Paaramitha’ initiative. SLT-MOBITEL Pre-Paid and Post-Paid customers are invited to donate via SMS by simply typing ‘YES’ and sending it to 255. Every SMS will be charged Rs. 50 and in return, SLT-MOBITEL will match all public donations doubling the funds collected. Additionally, the funds collected are being used to purchase and distribute dry rations and vital medical equipment, helping distressed communities and the nation.
