CARE PRIVILEGE for the caregivers an ideal acknowledgement of their services – DG Health Services

While thanking the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLAM) for the great initiative taken to look into the welfare of those in the frontline Dr. Asela Gunawardena urged the Association to include the support staff such as the janitors, helpers and minor staff as they all are part of the curative sector.

He commended the role played by SLMA in the battle against the pandemic, providing the platform and necessary infrastructure for an effective channel of communication amongst the medical fraternity, he added.

Dr. Gunawardena received the symbolic CARE PRIVILEGE CARD on behalf of the SLMA MEMBERSHIP which was presented by CEO of Ch17 Rewards and Loyalty Company Mr. Jumar Preena at an event held at the association auditorium on Nov 24.

The Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath and the President of SLMA Prof. Indika Karunathilake and President Colombo Business Association Mr. Ariyaseela Wickremanayake were among those present.

 

 

 

 

CARE PRIVILEGE is a program to recognise and reward all those in the frontline healthcare services mobilised for Covid-19 operation since the outbreak in late February this year. This program sponsored by Ch17 Loyalty will benefit up to 10,000 families of care workers as they will be able to enjoy many benefits and privileges from the company’s partner merchants throughout the year.

Several retailers have volunteered to join the scheme by offering cash discounts on purchases from any of their branches or outlets island-wide. “This is encouraging” Jumar said.

CBA in partnership with CH17 Rewards & Loyalty will reach out to all retail merchants and vendors of consumer goods and supplies seeking their support towards this program, with the objective of giving many relief as possible to the households of these care workers.

Laugfs Supermarket has offered 7% discount on the total bill for the CARE CARD holders. SLT , DIALOG Enterprises, Hameedia, NoLimit, Bata, Fashion Bug, Saman Mal, Walkers Tours, PizzaHut, TacoBell, Shoppa.lk, Catchme.lk, Shirt Works, Crocodile, Vison Care, Wickremaarachchi Opticians, Subway, CIB have all responded favorably to the request made by Ch17 towards this cause.

Bank of Ceylon, as the official partner will facilitate overseas travel needs through their Multi Currency Travel Card offering preferential rates for foreign exchange, free card and a host of privileges from MasterCard.

We are confident that many more retailers would join the program to show gratitude to the medical team he added.
