INSEE Cement to Develop Leadership and Soft Skill Competencies of Senior RDA Engineers

Enters MoU with the RDA and Colombo School of Business Management to conduct technical sessions

INSEE Cement entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Road Development Authority (RDA) of Sri Lanka and the Colombo School of Business and Management (CSBM) today, in a mandate to elevate soft skill competencies of over 200 Senior RDA Engineers across Sri Lanka, nurturing core leadership and management competencies through strategically curated technical sessions.

This promising public-private partnership was signed today between INSEE Cement’s Sri Lankan corporate unit – Siam City Cement (Lanka) Ltd, the RDA and CSBM under the patronage of Secretary to the Ministry of Roads & Highways Mr. R. W. R. Pemasiri in the presence of Chairman of the RDA Mr. C. P. Ahuluwage, and was formalized by Director General of the RDA Eng. Kamal Amaraweera, Chair and Head of CSBM Prof. Ranjith Bandara, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Innovation at INSEE Cement Mr. Jan Kunigk and General Manager of INSEE Concrete and Industrial Sales Mr. Nandana Amunuthuduwa.




 

The foremost cement manufacturer in the country, INSEE Cement has been at the forefront of driving transformation across the construction industry in Sri Lanka by empowering key stakeholder groups including Engineers, Technical Officers, Masons and Students, supporting competency development and upskilling through sharing of knowledge and expertise.

“As Sri Lanka progresses in its ambitious program of physical infrastructure development across the country, we at INSEE Cement have a responsibility as industry leaders to disseminate the knowledge and expertise we have accumulated over five decades of global operation,” stated Mr. Jan Kunigk, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Innovation at INSEE Cement. “Engineers are a critical stakeholder group of the local construction industry, and we want to ensure that their competencies are developed to meet the rising demands and rapidly changing needs of the construction industry.”

With the signing of this MoU, INSEE Cement will collaborate with CBSM to conduct tailored technical and soft skills development sessions over a two-month period at the INSEE i2i Collaboration Space – a dedicated center of excellence that develops and promotes new products and solutions for the building and construction industry. Located in Peliyagoda, the state-of-the-art facility promotes collaboration between engineers, researchers, students, innovators, architects, academia as well as professional bodies, industry and technical experts and market competitors with a common goal; the advancement of the local construction industry.
