The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently felicitated 86 members of its staff in recognition of 25 years of loyal service, at the Bank’s annual Seniority Awards ceremony for 2019.
The gala event at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo was themed “Celebrating 25 years of shared prosperity and achievement” and was graced by Commercial Bank Chairman Mr Dharma Dheerasinghe as Chief Guest. Members of the Board of Directors and members of the Bank’s corporate and senior management too were present at the ceremony.
Recipients of seniority awards were recognised with a valuable gift and a certificate in appreciation of their service. Many of the recipients of these awards were school leavers when they joined the Bank in 1994, and now hold key positions in various departments and branches and have been an integral part of the growth of the bank. Members of the families of the felicitated staff were invited to the celebrations that followed the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Commercial Bank Chairman Mr Dharma Dheerasinghe conveyed his deep appreciation of the loyal service of the award winners, and commended the support of their family members, which he said, had made a commitment of this nature achievable.
Two minutes of silence was observed during the awards ceremony in remembrance of all employees who had passed away in 2019.
