Vision Care supports Sri Lanka Tennis Association to host 104th Colombo Championship

Sri Lanka’s leading eye care specialist, Vision Care Private Limited, facilitated the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA)’s 104th Colombo Championship, which was held at the Playing Section of SLTA at Greenpath. One of the most popular tennis tournaments in the country, the championship was played out from 5th to 21st July 2019. One of the Category “A” grade tournaments in the local tennis calendar, the tournament attracted the cream of the players in the country. The prize-giving was held on 7th August 2019 in the presence of players, well-wishers and Mr. Pradeep Goonasekara, General Secretary of the SLTA Playing section; Mr. Ayendra Bandaranayake, President of the SLTA Playing section and Mr. Udith Wickramasinghe, Tournament Director. The Chief Guest for the evening, Air Vice Marshall  Morris Fernando (Former  President SLTA playing section), and the Guest of Honor, Mr. Janaka Fonseka, Managing Director, Vision Care, distributed prizes to the triumphant winners.

The Vision Care Junior Player of the Tournament award was bestowed on Chathurya Nilaweera, winner of the boys Under 18 singles event; winner of the boys under 16 doubles event partnering Vinchinthya Nilaweera; reaching the semi-finals of the Men’s singles event. The Vision Care Senior player of the Tournament was bagged by Anika Seneviratne, the semi-finalist of the Women’s Singles event; winner of the women’s doubles event, partnering Alana Seneviratne; and the winner of the mixed doubles event partnering T Dineshkanthan.
