Held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo, Anothai Wettayakorn, Vice President, Asia Emerging Markets and South Asia Consumer Business, Dell Technologies, and Chrishan Fernando, Country Manager, Sri Lanka, Dell Technologies, unveiled the new solutions and addressed attendees comprised of Dell Technologies’ key partners and customers. The event was powered by Dell Technologies key partners, Pinnacle Distribution Lanka Pvt Ltd and REDINGTON SL (PVT) Ltd.

“For many organizations, the fast-changing technology landscape is resulting in an enormous amount of IT complexity. Business leaders must overcome this challenge to deliver exceptional customer experiences with their products and services. With Dell Technologies’ solutions, we’re empowering businesses on their digital transformation journey to preserve essential information while becoming more adaptive, competitive and innovative,” said Chrishan Fernando, Country Manager, Sri Lanka, Dell Technologies. “Dell Technologies Symposium brings together the latest solutions from the edge to the core to the cloud, including data center solutions built to enhance operational and business efficiencies, as well as workforce solutions to help customers save both cost and time.”

He further added, “Accessibility to data is at the core of business transformation and modern enterprises are increasingly relying on cloud to help accelerate the delivery of innovative services powered by data to the business, ultimately delivering new experiences to their customers. The Dell Technologies Cloud portfolio consists of the new Dell Technologies Cloud Platforms and the new Data Center-as-a-Service offerings. These offerings enable a flexible range of IT and management options with tight integration and a single vendor experience for purchasing, deployment, services and financing.”

According to a Gartner survey, 67 percent of business leaders have stated that their company will lose its competitive edge if it does not digitally transform by 2020. As the foundation for successful digital transformation, customers need to be able to modernize their data centers with infrastructure designed to simplify their data landscape, optimize workloads at any scale and secure an organization’s most valuable asset — data. The Dell Technologies Digital Transformation Index also highlights that only 5 percent of businesses around the globe have been defined as Digital leaders. The study indicates that digital transformation programs for most businesses are still in its infancy stages. This is evidenced by the 78 percent of business leaders who admit digital transformation should be more widespread throughout their organizations and more than half of businesses believe they will struggle to meet changing customer demands within five years.

Also introducing the Unified Workspace to help IT transform end-user experience, Dell Technologies’ visionary approach to end-user computing helps make workforce transformation a reality for customers by providing workers with a fuss-free, ready-to-work experience, while enabling IT teams with automated, open and intelligent solutions for unified management.

Speaking at the event, Wettayakorn commented: “Dell Technologies has always been focused on innovation to simplify our IT for customers. We believe that the new solutions introduced will provide the right support that our customers are looking for in their digital transformation journey, especially around saving time and resources to focus on making strategic decisions that matter.”
