Rinaz Rafaideen, from Colombo City Centre has been awarded the ‘Marketing Professional of the Year’ at The Golden Globe Tigers Awards for Excellence & Leadership in Branding and Marketing at Taj Samudra Hotel, on 17th July 2019.
The award which is the most prestigious individual award of the event was presented by the Minister of Education Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, in recognition of his achievements in the fields of strategic marketing and brand building in Sri Lanka, selected amongst many other marketing professionals across the country.
His career as a retail marketing specialist has spanned 10 years, involving many challenging brands in the retail industry. He has worked with some of the most celebrated brands in the country as well as with premier international brands. He has steered some of the prominent marketing initiatives in the country such as effective promotional campaigns, modern Loyalty Programs, Strategic CSR Initiatives and Innovative Brand Activations.
Rinaz Rafaideen, presently handles Marketing for Colombo City Centre. He is a proud product of Zahira College, Colombo and is a graduate from Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, specialized in Brand Management.
The Golden Globe Tigers Awards is industry-focused and recognizes ‘tigers’ in marketing, branding, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and social innovation, and education across all leadership levels.
The award is given to both individuals and organizations that believe that excellence is infinite, perfection has no limit, and targets are milestones, not an end of a journey.
To ensure the awards are prestigious, The Golden Globe Tiger Awards are awarded based on a comprehensive research process undertaken by a research cell consisting of postgraduates in history and management who produce a shortlist of high-achievement individuals with proven track record. The shortlist is then passed on and reviewed by panel of juries comprising senior professionals from across the globe.
