Airtel Fastest discover fiercely fast contenders in Colombo

The final round of try-outs of Airtel Fastest concluded with a highest recorded turnout of over 3000 participants and the revelation of some of the fastest bowlers thus far in the competition. These youngsters were mentored by the veteran Anusha Samaranayake in the two-day session.

Over 10,000 participants took up the challenge to test their bowling speed during the auditions held across Sri Lanka from Jaffna to Pollonnaruwa, Batticaloa, Matara, Badulla, Ruwanwella, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Kandy, Horana and Colombo. And many passed the mark of 120 Kmph speed at the first instance.

A hundred fast bowlers in Amateur, School Boy and Female categories will proceed from these trials for a coaching session in Colombo. A selected 45 contenders in those categories will then put through a comprehensive coaching camp in Colombo with Airtel’s ‘Super Star coaching team’ consisting of Lasith Malinga, Anusha Samaranayake and Chaminda Vaas from 20th April. Eliminations rounds of the final 45 participants will begin for May 2019.
