Ceylinco Life celebrated its achievement of 15 consecutive years of market leadership with a spectacular annual awards gala at which 243 of the Company’s top performing sales professionals and staff were honoured for their contributions with 415 performance awards.

One of the highlights of the event at the main hall of the BMICH was the presentation of a company-maintained Toyota Axio car for the use of the top Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) achiever of the concluded year, in a continuation of a practice launched by Ceylinco Life in 2018 as a first in the local life insurance market. High achievers were also presented with overseas tours, certificates, medals and trophies.

Staff members, sales consultants, unit heads and branch heads from the Ceylinco Life head office and more than 280 branches in every district of the country were recognised for their contribution to the company’s stellar results of 2018, with many top performers winning multiple awards.

Speaking at the event, Ceylinco Life Managing Director/CEO Mr Thushara Ranasinghe said the Company cannot place a value on the sacrifices made by the sales force during a 31-year journey that began in 1988 in a rented space at Ceylinco House and a first year premium income of Rs 6 million and has today reached an annual premium income of Rs 17.8 billion, 35 company-owned buildings and an island-wide branch network.

Quoting Britain’s war-time Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s statement that “success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts,” he stressed that a life insurance sales professional has to have a true belief in the power of life insurance to be successful.  Ceylinco Life’s commitment to the aspirations of the members of its sales force and their families is demonstrated by the fact that the Company has invested in excess of a billion rupees to provide more than 300 vehicle loans to them, Mr Ranasinghe disclosed.

Among those honoured at Ceylinco Life’s 2019 annual awards were 73 members of the Company’s sales force who qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) in 2019, three MDRT members among them who achieved Court of Table status, one MDRT member that qualified for Top of Table status and 85 sales officers inducted into the Company’s own High Flyers’ Club last year.

The top award winners at this year’s annual awards of Ceylinco Life were: Overall Best Branch Head Mr A. S. Samarasinghe of the Nugegoda 01 branch; Best Branch Head (Female) Ms T. Shopana of The Nelliady 01 branch; Overall Best Unit Head Mr M. G. S. Werapitiya of Teldeniya 01 branch; Best Unit Head  (Female) Ms S. E.
