Automobile Mechatronics is one of the most in-demand avenues in modern engineering. An individual qualified in Automobile Mechatronics has the opportunity to work overseas with leading automobile manufacturers and franchises.

The course content assures that the individuals’ skills are moulded and enhanced to match needs of the modern automobile industry. Receiving such an accreditation requires extensive audits by German Authorities, and thus makes DIMO Academy for Technical Skills (DATS) only the second institute in Asia to offer a category “A” certificate by the German Chamber of commerce.

In 1990, DATS was established in Colombo in collaboration with Daimler AG. The school became the first and largest one of its kind in the private sector to offer an automotive technological education as a social service to Sri Lanka. Over 400 students have since graduated and are pursuing successful careers in the Automobile industry worldwide. In 2010, in celebration of its 20th anniversary, DATS introduced its courses to Jaffna at the new branch established in the liberated war torn area.
