Breakfast session on GDPR compliance organized by the Council for Business with Britain

02

With increasing concern about General Data Protection Regulation, many may be under the misconception that it does not have a substantial effect on their company. However it is necessary for companies that are engaged in doing business with European companies to comply with these new regulations.

In order to comply, local companies need to be aware of how to comply, and the benefits of GDPR compliance. A few benefits are that European companies will prefer doing business with compliant businesses, trust is built, the European supplier is not put at risk of being fined for dealing with a non-compliant Sri Lankan company, and the company will have a market advantage over competitors.

Owing to the complexities of compliance, the Council for Business with Britain has organized a breakfast session aiming to provide businesses a simplification of the guidelines to follow.

The session will cover the new consumer rights, do’s and don’ts when complying, what you have to do to comply (if you need to), and where to get expert assistance.

The session will be held on Thursday, 14th June, at Hotel Colombo Residences commencing at 07:30am.   For registration email cherryl@chamber.lk or reach out for more details on 5588859.
