First Capital Holdings PLC, a subsidiary of JXG (Janashakthi Group) has once again launched its signature financial literacy campaign, #FinPowerHer, for the second consecutive year. The initiative is designed to empower women across Sri Lanka by equipping them with the financial knowledge and tools needed to achieve independence and long-term financial security.

First Capital Holdings is the undisputed leader in capital markets, renowned for its unmatched commitment to excellence, innovation, and expertise in financial investment. With over four decades of industry dominance, the company empowers clients to navigate market complexities, transforming opportunities into sustainable growth. Through its forward-thinking approach and unparalleled market insight, First Capital Holdings is not merely shaping the capital markets, it is revolutionising the future. Further, the company has consistently been recognised with a multitude of prestigious awards, underscoring its dedication to delivering exceptional services and fostering trust within the industry. These accolades not only highlight First Capital’s commitment to excellence but also enhance its credibility, solidifying its position as a trusted leader in the market.

Recognizing the unique financial challenges that women face, the #FinPowerHer campaign aims to foster financial awareness and break down barriers that hinder women from taking control of their financial futures. Through this campaign, First Capital reiterates its belief that financial freedom enables women to make informed decisions, build stable lives for themselves and their families, and pursue their aspirations with confidence.

To expand the campaign’s reach and impact, First Capital organized a multilingual webinar series conducted in Sinhala, Tamil, and English. This inclusive approach ensured that women from diverse backgrounds across the country could access the resources and knowledge shared through the program.

The webinar series guided participants through three essential steps to becoming better investors. Sessions focused on debunking prevalent financial myths, understanding key macroeconomic factors, and exploring effective investment strategies. The program featured thought-provoking panel discussions with accomplished industry leaders who shared their insights and personal journeys, shedding light on overcoming societal norms and gender-based financial limitations.

Prominent figures featured in the series included Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane, President of CFA Society Sri Lanka; Inoshini Perera, Director – Strategic Planning at Verité Research; Selyna Peiris, Director at Selyn & Selyn Foundation; and Achala Samaradiwakara, Co-Founder of Good Market. Adding further depth to the sessions were expert contributions from First Capital’s own professionals, including Deshani Ratnayake, Vice President – Corporate Finance & Advisory; Diluni Danushika, Senior Manager – Finance; and Evelyn John, Investment Advisor at First Capital Equities (Pvt) Ltd.

Commenting on the campaign, Dilshan Wirasekara, Managing Director/CEO of First Capital Holdings PLC, said, “At First Capital, we believe in fostering financial inclusion and bridging the gender gap in access to financial knowledge. #FinPowerHer is more than a campaign—it’s a commitment to creating a space where women are encouraged, educated, and empowered to make confident financial decisions. The overwhelming response we received last year inspired us to continue and expand this effort, and we’re proud to see its growing impact.”

The entire #FinPowerHer webinar series has been recorded and is now available on First Capital’s YouTube channel, offering continued access to the valuable content for participants and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of financial empowerment.

Through initiatives like #FinPowerHer, First Capital continues to lead the way in shaping a financially inclusive future where all women, regardless of their background, have the tools and confidence to take charge of their financial journeys.
