US Professor calls on Dhaka University VC

Prof. Tatsushi Arai of the School of Peace and Conflict Studies of Kent State University, USA called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan  13 March 2025 Thursday at the latter’s office of the university.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Proctor Associate Prof. Saifuddin Ahmed and Chairman of DU Peace and Conflict Studies Department Dr. Sazzad Siddiqui were present on this occasion.

 During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests specially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative research project on July 2024 uprising, peace and conflict between the University of Dhaka and Kent State University USA. Exchange of teachers, students and researchers between the two universities were also discussed in the meeting. Besides, they discussed about the possibilities of undertaking joint training programs on peace building and social stability as well as publishing research books on July 2024 uprising under the joint auspices of Dhaka University and Kent State University, USA.

 Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan stressed the need for strengthening international collaboration to upgrade academic and research activities.

  Earlier, Prof. Tatsushi Arai presented a paper on ‘Bangladesh in the Aftermath of the July 2024 Uprising: Challenges and opportunities’.
