
07th March 2025: Standard Chartered Sri Lanka hosted Jerry Zhang, Global Co-Head of Financial Institutions (FI) Coverage along with Prashant Shah, Regional Head of Financial Intuitions on a three-day visit to the country recently. The visit included high-level engagements with key stakeholders in Sri Lanka’s financial sector.
During her stay, Jerry held key meetings with CEOs of leading financial institutions and senior government officials, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. She also engaged with Standard Chartered’s Country Management Team and staff from the Corporate and Financial Institutions teams.
Standard Chartered Sri Lanka CEO, Bingumal Thewarathanthri, explained, “Hosting Jerry in Sri Lanka has been a privilege for us. Through her engagement with important stakeholders, we have deepened our existing partnerships and reaffirmed Standard Chartered’s steadfast dedication to serving the Sri Lankan market.”

Jerry was appointed as Standard Chartered’s Global Co-Head of FI Coverage in April 2024, and brings extensive experience to the role. Prior to her current position, she served as Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Standard Chartered China since 2014 and as Cluster Chief Executive Officer for China and Japan from 2021. She continues to serve as a Non-Executive Director of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited and is based in Hong Kong.
