Actor Enayet Ullah Syed, also known in the theater world as Shipul Syed, has been honored with the Best Actor award at the Bangladesh Entertainment Journalists Association (BABiSAS) Awards 2023-2024. The prestigious award was presented to him on Saturday, February 22, at a grand ceremony held at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation.
The award was handed over to Enayet Ullah Syed by the chief guest, legendary actress Anwara Begum, with special guest Tashik Ahmed, Broadcast and Program Advisor of ATN Bangla. The event was presided over by Abul Hossain Mojumdar.
In his acceptance speech, Shipul Syed expressed, “This award is very important for an actor because an actor does not just perform, but also carries a social responsibility. That responsibility is to contribute to societal change through the medium of drama.”
The Babisas 2023-2024 Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to film personalities Anwara Begum, Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Ujjal, and Ferdausi Ara for their contributions to music. Special recognition was also given to film personalities Rozina, Rubel, and Tashik Ahmed. Other notable awards were given to various personalities, including D. A. Tayeb, Mamun Hasan Imon, Nirab Hossain, Joy Chowdhury, Siam Ahmed, Shiba Sanu, Rashed Mamun Apu, Khaled Hossain Chowdhury, Mohammad Fahad, Golam Kibria Tanveer, Romana Islam Mukti, Shabnam Bubly, Shabnam Parveen, Arpana Rani Rajbongshi, and Bobby Haque.
In music, artists such as Monir Khan, Robi Chowdhury, Ithun Babu, Baby Naznin, Dolly Shyontoni, and Tashiba Begum were honored for their significant contributions.
