CFA Society Sri Lanka Honors Top Employers Supporting CFA Charterholders and Candidates

CFA Society Sri Lanka proudly hosted the second edition of the Employer Recognition Program to recognize the top 25 employers of CFA Charterholders and Candidates in Sri Lanka. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mrs. Nelumani Daulagala, Senior Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and Special Guest Ms. Reseena Abdullah, Society Regional Director of CFA Institute.

 



 

The Employer Recognition Program serves as a platform to recognize organizations that actively support CFA Program candidates and Charterholders by providing employment opportunities, career guidance, and professional development. This initiative underscores the growing importance of the CFA credential in the Sri Lankan financial and investment industry.

Delivering the welcome address at the event, Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane, CFA, President of CFA Society Sri Lanka, stated: “CFA Charterholders are employed by some of the biggest financial institutions such as JP Morgan, UBS, Morgan Stanley, BlackRock, and Goldman Sachs. Through this recognition program, we acknowledge Sri Lankan employers who share a similar commitment to excellence by hiring and supporting CFA Charterholders and candidates.”

Providing insights into the initiative, Nuwan De Silva, CFA, Chair of the Employer Outreach Committee, noted: “Currently, approximately 120 employers across Sri Lanka’s private and public sectors recruit CFA Program candidates and Charterholders. These firms recognize that the CFA credential signifies expertise in portfolio management, financial analysis, and ethical standards, contributing to an organization’s competitive advantage.

He further emphasized the role CFA Charterholders play in shaping financial decision-making, stating: “Their expertise enhances client relationships, ensures strong investor protection, and mitigates financial risks, all of which are key factors in strengthening an organization’s market position.”

The Employer Recognition Program offers significant benefits to employers, providing them with an industry-wide acknowledgment of their commitment to professional development and excellence. Recognized employers are featured on the CFA Society Sri Lanka website and gain access to the CFA Institute Career Center for recruitment, helping them attract and retain top talent in a competitive job market.

Aruna Alwis, CEO of CFA Society Sri Lanka, commented on the impact of the program: “We are deeply appreciative of the firms that continue to work closely with CFA Society Sri Lanka, hiring and supporting CFA Charterholders and candidates. Their commitment strengthens the financial industry and reinforces the value of the CFA qualification.”

CFA Society Sri Lanka remains committed to fostering employer partnerships by promoting the CFA Program, hosting career development sessions, and encouraging employers to invest in the professional growth of their staff. The Society also engages employers through advocacy initiatives, research, and ethical standards, helping shape the future of finance in Sri Lanka.

Reseena Abdullah, Society Regional Director of CFA Institute, commended CFA Society Sri Lanka’s efforts, stating, “The continuation of the Employer Recognition Program marks a significant milestone in reinforcing the importance of the CFA qualification in Sri Lanka’s financial sector.”
