Kelani Cables PLC introduced ‘Wire Calculator Mobile APP’ a mobile phone App that helps selecting right electrical cables for varied purposes. The product is pioneered in Sri Lanka by Kelani Cables PLC, Sri Lanka’s number one brand in electrical and communication cables.
The new APP that caters for domestic and industry was unveiled at Waters Edge with the participation of Mahinda Saranapala, Director/CEO, Kelani Cables PLC.
Using the new APP, with the support of an electrician households and anyone in the electrical engineering field could select the most suitable wire for wiring a house or a more complex place.
The household APP component of ‘Wire Calculator Mobile App’ has simple attributes that helps find wires for ‘Single Phase’ wiring purposes. When the consumer knows the electric current (Amperes) or rated power (Kilo Watts or horse power) of the particular equipment he can feed that data into this software to find the cable with the most suited cross sectional area.
The electrical engineering APP component of ‘Wire Calculator Mobile APP’ mostly caters to project managers, engineers and electrical technical officers. User can input more variables to this component such as apparent power of a transformer (kVA) and voltage drop, length of the wire, determining whether it is single-core or multi-core, conductor material (copper or aluminum), wire type (armoured or unarmoured) and especially wire-laying method (inside conduits or underground).
