Gulshan Club Olympiad is going to be organized for the fourth time with the participation of various social clubs of the country. ‘Gulshan Club Olympiad-2024’ will start on November 21 with the cooperation of Dhaka Bank. The inter-club sports carnival will conclude on November 28.
This event is aimed at developing friendship, brotherhood and sincere camaraderie among all the members of the social clubs, including the young and the old, through competitive games.
A Press Conference was held at Crystal Palace Hall of Gulshan Club in Dhaka on 16 November 2024 Saturday, where the official inauguration of this prestigious event was announced. Gulshan Club President Anwar Rashid and Olympiad Organizing Committee Chairman Minhaj Kamal Khan were present on the occasion.
Anwar Rashid and Minhaj Kamal Khan unveiled the official jersey of Gulshan Club Olympiad 2024 at the press conference. The fixtures of all sports events are also published at this time.
Gulshan Club President Anwar Rasheed presented Gulshan Club as a social organization promoting unity and cooperation through sports. He also described the aim of the Olympiad to build a spirit of friendship and brotherhood among the members, bridging generations and different communities.
Minhaj Kamal Khan, Chairman of the Olympiad Organizing Committee, presented the details of this year’s event at the press conference. He said, 18 teams will participate in 14 sporting events in this year’s Olympics. More than 650 competitors representing 16 clubs will participate in the Olympiad. He said that due to everyone’s cooperative efforts and extensive planning, it is possible to organize the Olympiad for the fourth time.
Olympiad Organizing Committee Vice Chairman Mahbubul Haque Sufiani (Director in Charge of Sports, GCL), Mehdi Hasan (Vice President of Venue Partner Gulshan Youth Club) and Advisor Safius Sami Alamgir (Director Admin, GCL). Mehjabeen Bhuiyan (Director Finance, GCL), Ishtiaq Abedin, Shafiqul Islam Sarkar, Aziz Al-Masood, representatives of all participating clubs and sports convenors were present in the Press Conference.
The grand participants of the Olympiad this year are – American Club, All Community Club Limited, Baridhara Cosmopolitan Club Limited, Baridhara Diplomatic Enclave Club, Banani Club Limited, Cadet College Club Limited, Chittagong Club Limited, Dhaka Boat Club Limited, Dhaka Club Limited, Gulshan Club Limited. , Gulshan Youth Club Limited, Gregorian Alumni Club Limited, Khulna Club Limited, Narayanganj Club Limited, Sylhet Club Limited and Uttara Club Limited.
The events of this year’s Olympiad are – Tennis, Cricket, Football, Squash, Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball, Swimming, Snooker, Pool, Golf, Chess, Arm Wrestling and Quiz for respective clubs.
Gulshan Youth Club is partnering as a venue host providing facilities for important sports like Cricket, Basketball, Badminton and Football.
This year the Olympiad is going to be held in collaboration with Dhaka Bank Limited. Prime Bank, Butterfly Bangladesh and Turag Active and Bruvana remain as hydration partners. Anand TV, Channel-I, Jamuna TV and T-Sports are the electronic media partners for the event.
The opening ceremony of Gulshan Club Olympiad will be held on Thursday, November 21 at the tennis ground of Gulshan Club. The event will feature a POI show and a flash mob dance to kick off the Olympiad with a bang. The Olympiad will conclude with a grand prize distribution ceremony on November 28 at the same venue.
