Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) organised a Country Lecture Series (CLS) event titled “Bangladesh-Malaysia Relations: Moving towards Prosperity” on Sunday, 15 September 2024 at the BIISS auditorium, Dhaka. Her Excellency Haznah Md Hashim, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh graced the event as the Keynote Speaker. Ambassador M Riaz Hamidullah, Additional Foreign Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was the Special Guest for the event.
Ambassador A F M Gousal Azam Sarkar, Chairman of BIISS, moderated the event as the Session Chair. The event began with a welcome address from the Director General of BIISS, Major General Iftekhar Anis, BSP, awc, afwc, psc, PEng. The keynote presentation on “Bangladesh-Malaysia Relations: Moving towards Prosperity” was then delivered, followed by an open discussion session. Thereafter, the Special Guest delivered his insightful remarks on the topic. Finally, the Session Chair delivered the concluding remarks.
Senior officials from different ministries, ambassadors, high commissioners, former diplomats, senior military officials, media, researchers, academics, and students from various universities, as well as representatives from different think tanks and international organisations, attended the event and enriched the discussion with their valuable opinions, comments, suggestions, and observations during the open discussion session.
