People’s Leasing & Finance PLC’s athletics team participated as part of the Sri Lanka Mercantile Athletic Federation at the SMTFA International Masters Track & Field Championships in Singapore. Among the 29 participants representing Sri Lanka, the team contributed significantly by securing 15 out of the 63 medals for the country. As a leading company in non-banking financial services in Sri Lanka, People’s Leasing & Finance PLC is proud to announce the remarkable achievements of its athletics team at this prestigious event. Competing against participants from 22 countries, the team showcased their talent and dedication, earning a total of 15 medals. These achievements underscore People’s Leasing & Finance’s commitment to supporting their employees’ passions both in and out of the workplace.
Accordingly, Samantha Senavirathne, competing in the 50+ category, secured 2nd place in both the 4*100m and 4*400m relays, as well as a 3rd place finish in the 800m. Mohan Nanayakkara, in the 40+ category, won 2nd place in the 110m hurdles and contributed to the team’s 2nd place finish in the 4*100m and 4*400m relays. Kosala Migara, representing the 35+ category, won 1st in both the long jump and triple jump, while also playing a key role in the team’s 2nd place finish in the 4*100m relay. Kumara Cooray, competing in the 30+ category, added to the team’s medal tally with a 3rd place finish in both the 200m and 400m, and supported the team’s success in the relays by securing 3rd place in the 4*100m relay and 1st place in the 4*400m relay. Viraj Madhusanka, also in the 30+ category, secured 1st place in the long jump and 2nd place in the triple jump.
