ICMAB and IUB ink MoU for Academic Collaboration

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the Independent University, Bangladesh have reached a significant milestone in their commitment to academic excellence and professional advancement in accounting. On 25 June 2024 Tuesday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed at the IUB Campus, marking a new era of collaboration and opportunity for students and professionals.



The MoU was signed by Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, Vice-President, ICMAB and Mr. Tanweer Hasan, PhD, Vice Chancellor, IUB in a ceremony witnessed by key representatives from both institutions. Among the attendees from ICMAB were Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, Council Member, Prof. Md. Zakaria Masud FCMA, PhD, Director, Academic Affairs Division, ICMAB, Mr. Mohammad Ruhul Quddus ACMA and Mr. Abdul Maleque, Additional Director and Head of Education Department. Maqbool Kader Quraishi, PhD, Head, Department of Accounting, Mr. Md. Safiuddin ACMA, Senior Lecturer and the faculty members of IUB witnessed the ceremony.
This agreement paves the way for IUB students and graduates to benefit from course exemptions and admission scholarships when pursuing the CMA program. The collaboration extends beyond these benefits, with ICMAB and IUB committing to work together in areas that align with their core business interests. During the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of IUB, Mr. Tanweer Hasan, PhD expressed his gratitude towards ICMAB and encouraged faculty members to nurture this partnership through innovative activities. ICMAB Vice President, Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, lauded IUB for their cooperation and emphasized the partnership’s role in promoting excellence, innovation, and advancement in the accounting profession. The initiative was praised by all participants who agreed to actively work towards fulfilling the objectives set out in the MoU.
