The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the BRAC University have reached a significant milestone in their commitment to academic excellence and professional advancement in accounting. On 10 June 2024 Monday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed at the Brac University Campus, marking a new era of collaboration and opportunity for students and professionals.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Md. Zakaria Masud FCMA, PhD, Director, Academic Affairs Division, ICMAB, and Prof. Mohammad Mujibul Haque, PhD, Associate Dean & Acting Dean, BRAC Business School, in a ceremony witnessed by key representatives from both institutions. Among the attendees from ICMAB were Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, Vice-President, Mr. S. M. Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA, Secretary, Mr. Mohammed Jahangir Alam FCMA, Council Member and Mr. Abdul Maleque, Additional Director and Head of Education Department. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, PhD Associate Professor & Research Director, BRAC Business School witnessed the ceremony.
This agreement paves the way for BRACU students and graduates to benefit from course exemptions and admission scholarships when pursuing the CMA program. The collaboration extends beyond these benefits, with ICMAB and BRACU committing to work together in areas that align with their core business interests. During the ceremony, the Associate Dean & Acting Dean of BRAC Business School Prof. Mohammad Mujibul Haque PhD expressed his gratitude towards ICMAB and encouraged faculty members to nurture this partnership through innovative activities. ICMAB Vice President, Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, lauded BRACU for their cooperation and emphasized the partnership’s role in promoting excellence, innovation, and advancement in the accounting profession. The initiative was praised by all participants who agreed to actively work towards fulfilling the objectives set out in the MoU.
