97 badminton coaches awarded certificates and licenses

The successful completion of the Badminton Coaches Capacity Building Program, conducted by the National Institute of Sports Science (NISS) and Sri Lanka Badminton (SLB) saw 97 coaches being awarded Level 1 coaching certificates and license issued by the NISS in Colombo recently.

“The training you have received will enable our young boys and girls more knowledge and ability to play the game that we all love badminton. And you are getting certificate and a License issued by SLB and the National Institute of Sports Science. SLB is affiliated to the world governing body and Ministry of Sports. So your License is very valid and huge achievement in your life,” SLB President Rohan De Silva said during the Ceremony.

The course, conducted by the NISS included classroom lecturing such as theory of training, sports nutrition, strength training, physical training, sports biomechanics, and several other areas. Meanwhile, on-court practical badminton training was conducted by SLB.
