2024 National Logistics Awards: A Great Success

The National Logistics Awards 2024 (NLA) took place on October 23, and the Main Ballroom of the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo served as the focal point of an incredible celebration. This prestigious event, which was hosted by the Sri Lanka Logistics and Freight Forwarders’ Association (SLFFA), honoured outstanding achievements to the logistics sector by bringing together leaders and participants in the business.
 



 
With over 40 prizes presented in ten main categories—such as freight forwarding, ocean carriers, airlines, warehousing and project logistics—the evening was a huge success. Each category honoured the creativity and commitment of individuals who have revolutionised supply chain management in Sri Lanka, and seven “Legends Of Logistics’’ awards was also given out recognising outstanding contributions to the industry.

The awards ceremony, which was supported by 28 important organisations including Sri Lanka Customs and the Ports and Shipping Ministry, emphasised the value of cooperation and acknowledgement in the logistics industry. The event received a great deal of support from by CL Synergy Ltd., as Main Sponsors while Aitken Spence Maritime, Freight and Integrated Logistic and Hayleys Advantis will join in as Gold Sponsors. Expolanka Freight Ltd., Scanwell Logistics Colombo Ltd., and Transwing Logistics Ltd. have come aboard as Bronze Sponsors which helped power the event to success.

Under the direction of Professor Lalith Edirisinghe of the CINEC Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, a distinguished panel of judges thoroughly assessed the nominations, using quantitative and qualitative methods to ensure the winners reflected excellence in their respective sectors.

Few words from the distinguished SLFFA office bearers on the event,

SLFFA Chairmen Channa Gunawardena said, “This event not only celebrated excellence in the logistics sector but also showcased our collective resilience and commitment to driving innovation in Sri Lanka’s logistics industry.”

SLFFA Vice Chairmen Andre Fernando said, “The National Logistics Awards 2024 was a testament to the remarkable achievements and dedication of our industry, inspiring us all to reach new heights.”

SLFFA Treasurer Shavindra Dias said, – “The event highlighted the incredible talent within our industry and reinforced the vital role logistics plays in Sri Lanka’s economy.”

In addition, the NLA 2024 sought to encourage youth by bringing attention to the diverse sectors in the logistics industry. The SLFFA feels that after overcoming many obstacles, including as the pandemic and difficult economic conditions, this acknowledgement is long overdue for an industry that has demonstrated incredible tenacity and resilience. Everyone felt inspired for the future as the evening came to an end with a sense of accomplishment and unity amongst participants.

The 2024 National Logistics Awards was a fantastic occasion that honoured the outstanding accomplishments of Sri Lanka’s logistics industry and emphasised its critical contribution in the country’s economy. The logistics industry eagerly anticipates the next edition of the National Logistics Awards (NLA), where we will continue to honour excellence and foster innovation in this dynamic industry.
