14th Medicare 2025 International Healthcare Exhibition declared open at BMICH

Chief Guest, Dr. Nalin Jayatissa, Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media, declare opens Medicare 2025 (LBN)

The 14th edition of Medicare International Healthcare Exhibition 2025 was declared open on Friday, February 28th, by Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media, at the BMICH in Colombo. Medicare 2025, Sri Lanka’s premier healthcare exhibition, dedicated to educating the public and showcasing the latest advancements in healthcare, medical technology, wellness, and medical tourism, will continue until Sunday, March 2nd.

Featuring over 150 stalls from local and international exhibitors, Medicare International Healthcare Exhibition 2025 is organised by Asia Wellness Forum, in collaboration with Aitken Spence Conventions & Exhibitions, bringing together local and international healthcare experts under one roof. Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva, the Chairperson of Medicare International Healthcare Exhibition 2025 Organising Committee, delivered the welcome speech, welcoming the Chief Guest of the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media.
 



 

“We have all the giants in the local medical field in this audience, which is overwhelming and an honour to Medicare 2025. As medical personals, we are busy with our professional commitments. Medicare is a great platform to showpiece and create access for all to witness how the healthcare sector is operated and, more importantly for the goods and service providers to display their facilities during the three days,” stated Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva, Chairperson, Medicare 2025, delivering the welcome speech.

Other dignitaries who graced the opening ceremony were Dr. Anil Jasinghe, the Secretary of Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, the Deputy High Commissioner of High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, Dr. Abhay Sinha, Director General of Services Export Promotion Council of India and dignitaries, sponsors and partners of the three-day event. During the opening ceremony, the Medicare Lifetime Awards were presented to the US Embassy in Sri Lanka, High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, Embassy of Finland in Sri Lanka, Asiri Hospitals, Nawaloka Hospitals, Prof. Saroj Jayasinghe, Prof. Neville Perera and Prof. S.V. Lamabadusuriya, recognising their outstanding contributions made towards the healthcare sector of Sri Lanka.

“I was made to aware that the Medicare exhibition covers five important aspects related to the healthcare sector and it’s important to educate the public on how the entire process is taking place. As the people’s government, we are also exploring the possibilities of promoting Sri Lanka as a healthcare hub through medical tourism, and Medicare 2025 is the ideal platform that covers the entire aspect,” noted Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media, the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony.
